Human Passport Embed

2025 — Present · Product management & GTM

Launched an embeddable identity verification widget that expanded Human Passport beyond its core user base. Part of a platform that grew to 1.8M+ users, 126 campaigns, and $430M+ in protected value.

Context

Human Passport had established itself as a privacy-preserving identity verification platform — but it was a standalone product. Partners who wanted to verify users had to send them to Passport's interface, breaking their own UX flow. The embed changed that: a drop-in component that any application could integrate directly.

What I did

Defined the product requirements and use cases with the engineering team. The key insight was that embed users have fundamentally different needs than standalone Passport users — they need fewer options, faster verification, and seamless visual integration with the host application.

Led GTM planning including positioning, launch messaging, and developer documentation. The positioning shift was significant: from "Passport is for DAOs" to "Passport is for any application that needs identity."

Coordinated the partner launch with early adopters, handling integration support and feedback loops to refine the developer experience before wider release.

Platform context

The embed launched as part of a broader growth period for Human Passport:

  • Scaled from 6 to 126 campaigns (2,000% increase)
  • Grew user base to 1.8M+ users (450% growth)
  • Platform protecting $430M+ in value
  • 25+ stamp providers integrated
  • Generated $387K revenue in 6 months

Takeaway

Taking a core capability and wrapping it in developer-friendly packaging is a specific product skill. The embed didn't change what Passport could do — it changed who could use it and where. That distribution unlock was the real product.
